MoreSaint-Gobain Ceramics recently signed a contract with Riley Power Inc. (RPI) to supply all materials and installation services for the refractories for a new waste-to-energy unit that is currently under construction at the existing Hillsborough County Waste-to-Energy Facility in Tampa, Fla. For this project, the refractories will form part of a 600-ton-per-day municipal solid waste (MSW) fired steam generator.
“Saint-Gobain Ceramics is a leader in the design, engineering and manufacture of refractory materials and systems for energy-from-waste units around the world,” said Patrick Stephan, market manager, Energy Systems for Saint-Gobain Ceramics. “We are very pleased that the Worcester-based refractory business was selected again by Riley Power, our neighbor in Worcester, to work closely with them on this project. Saint-Gobain completed a similar project in early 2007 with Riley Power in Ft. Myers, Fla.”

This facility expansion will build on Riley’s strengths as an OEM supplier of steam generators for almost any type of fuel, and its sister company, TEi Construction Services, will build the generator.
