Salina Vortex Corp. has announced its new dual cylinder Salina roller gate for handling dry materials in gravity flow applications where positive material shut off and a dust tight seal are required. The dual cylinder design reduces the overall length of the gate by a third, compared with end mounted air actuators. A shorter length and narrow profile allow this gate to be used in many applications where overall space or headroom is a concern, such as under hoppers, mixers, screw conveyors and silos. Properly sized air control solenoids and air lines, combined with full stroke polymer blade guides, provide for smooth blade actuation and eliminate associated seizing and binding problems.
