Sanikey, a Turkish company that specializes in the production of sanitaryware, recently installed a Sacmi ADM 160 high-pressure casting machine at its Istanbul plant. Large, stylish kitchen sinks and washbasins are Sanikey’s showpiece products. The production of these difficult-to-handle pieces requires an advanced level of technology to meet the standards of a demanding and competitive market.
Sanikey’s objective is to manufacture large-sized kitchen sinks (up to 940 x 460 x 260 mm) for the U.S. market. Capable of a clamping force equal to 160 tons, the ADM 160 can handle molds with two cavities having dimensions up to 1.200 x 1.500 mm. In addition to sinks, it is also possible to use the ADM 160 for the manufacture of other articles that can be obtained using molds divided into two parts, such as washbasins, pedestals and water tanks.
In addition, the machine is provided with several special features designed to increase production speed and make the entire production process safer. For example, the ADM’s crossbeam is equipped with a device for automatic rotation with an operating range of 180°, which enables both demolding and mold change-over operations to be carried out horizontally. This means that mold change-over is made quicker and safer, and the molds are handled faster and with greater accuracy.
