SCHOTT Launches Redesigned Website (posted 3/27/09)

SCHOTT recently launched its redesigned website, which has been optimized to more clearly present the company’s broad range of capabilities while easing navigation with a new interface. The site presents SCHOTT’s diverse portfolio from an applications perspective.

The homepage rotates features highlighting the company’s technologies, history and how customers put SCHOTT innovations to work in the real world. A key challenge in developing the redesigned site was simplifying navigation. SCHOTT consulted customers and reviewed traffic trends to develop a more user-friendly, innovative and interactive site.

“SCHOTT is diverse in both markets served and technologies explored,” said Barbara Augenblick, director of North American Marketing. “This updated website optimizes the navigation so that customers can quickly reach the newest and best technologies for their needs.”

SCHOTT’s redesigned website marks the company’s continued investment in its North American operations. The company recently acquired sole ownership of SCHOTT DAP, an armor systems manufacturer, and announced a $43 million investment in developing production of syringes at the company’s existing site in Lebanon, Pa. In addition, SCHOTT Solar’s flagship manufacturing facility in Albuquerque, N.M., is nearing completion. The company’s initial investment in Albuquerque is approximately $100 million, and the site will employ approximately 350 people.

“SCHOTT continues to invest in improving our customer-facing activities,” said Gerald J. Fine, Ph.D., president of SCHOTT North America, Inc. “The new website shows how SCHOTT is involved in developing innovative technologies in forward-looking markets.”
