MoreThe Schott Group has announced that effective October 1, 2000, its
glass-ceramic appliance business was reorganized into Schott HomeTech
North America. Juergen Ausborn, previously general manager of Schott
Corp.'s Technical Glass Division, has been appointed president of the
Schott HomeTech North America Division. The newly-formed division
includes Ceran glass-ceramic panels for smoothtop ranges and
cooktops; Robax transparent glass-ceramic panels for windows for
wood, gas and coal stoves and room heaters; and added value products
and research and development functions. "The appliance business is
very important to Schott, especially this very large North American
market," said Guy De Coninck, vice chairman, president and CEO of
Schott Corp. "The Schott HomeTech North America Division will provide
more transparent channels and processes, benefiting our customers."
