SEMICON West To Hold Technology Innovation Showcase Competition

SEMI has announced a call for innovations for the third annual Technology Innovation Showcase, to be held July 12-14 at the Moscone Convention Center in San Francisco, Calif., in conjunction with SEMICON West 2005. The Showcase is designed to highlight innovative companies, inventors and entrepreneurs, and expose their innovations to a broader audience of semiconductor manufacturers, suppliers and investors. "It can be difficult and costly to get new ideas introduced in our industry," said Vicki Hadfield, president of SEMI North America. "While the barriers to entry for smaller companies and entrepreneurs are especially high, the technical challenges and need for innovative manufacturing concepts is of paramount interest to semiconductor manufacturers. The Technology Innovation Showcase has been developed to help lower the cost of entry and give valuable exposure to the companies, groups and individuals who are working to develop tomorrow's technologies."

The application deadline is February 6, 2005. For more information, applications, and a complete list of rules and requirements, call (408) 943-6992, e-mail rkirk@semi.org or visit http://www.semi.org/tis.
