The connection between a thermoanalyzer and a mass spectrometer enables the determination of the nature and the amount of volatile products formed during thermal analysis. This year, Setaram has been developing a new system that connects the SETSYS thermoanalyzer to a mass spectrometer. The system, which skims molecules, is called the Supersonic System. It enables the analysis of molecules up to 1024 amu and with no condensation during the transfer between the thermoanalyzer and the gas analyzer. It can be adapted on any SETSYS instrument already in use by any customer.
