MoreRene Degreve has been named to the position of president and chief executive officer for Solvay America, Inc. He succeeds David Birney, who retired effective March 31, 2006. Degreve joined Solvay America's parent company, Solvay S.A., in Brussels, Belgium, in 1966. Since that time, he has held several executive positions in Brussels and Houston, including vice president finance of Soltex Polymer Corp. (later known as Solvay Polymers, Inc.), vice president finance of Solvay America, and executive vice president of Solvay Interox. He most recently served in Brussels as director and member of the executive committee and general manager finance.
