Southeastern Section Fall Meeting to Focus on Sustainability (posted 8/26/08)

The Southeastern Section and the Whitewares and Materials Division of the American Ceramic Society will hold “Sustainable Materials, Sustainable Manufacturing” October 27-29, 2008, at the Downtown Doubletree Hotel in Nashville, Tenn. The Technical Program on Tuesday will include presentations by W. Mark McGinley, Ph.D., of the University of Louisville; Hemant W. Dandekar, Ph.D., of Porcelain Industries, Inc.; Gregg Borchelt of the Brick Industry Association; and more. The full schedule is included below:

Monday, October 27: Golf, Registration and Reception
  • 12:00 - 5:00 p.m.: Golf Outing, Hermitage President’s Reserve (box lunch included)
  • 6:00 - 7:00 pm.: Registration and Opening Reception, Doubletree Hotel

  • 9:00 - 10:30 a.m.: First plant tour, group 1 at Crossville and group 2 at PI
  • 11:00 - 12:30 p.m.: Second plant tour, group 2 at Crossville and group 1 at PI
  • 12:30 p.m.: Departure, end of meeting (lunch on your own)
