Generous donations of time, money and skill gave a historical church the resources to install four new stained glass windows.

With the help of the Heritage Association of Frisco and the Collin County Historical Commission, the Lebanon Baptist Church in Frisco, Texas, recently installed four new stained glass windows. The church, which originated in 1879, is an important part of the city's history. To maintain the building's authenticity, the glass for the new windows was ordered from the same manufacturer that supplied the existing stained glass windows on the north side of the church. Public Art Manager Richard Oldham volunteered more than 60 hours of his time to create and install the windows.

The colorful glass doesn't just add an element of beauty to the church building; it also mitigates the intensity of the fierce sunlight that often caused the congregation to squint. In addition, the soft lighting helps to protect the antique piano that was donated to the Heritage Association in 2008. Visitors can see the stained glass windows on the third Sunday of every month, when the local historical buildings are open to the public.
