Sweco: Customer Testing Facility

Sweco recently opened its new multi-million dollar world headquarters in Florence, Ky. The 25,000-square-foot expansion to the company's current manufacturing facility includes state-of-the-art laboratories, test cells and observation rooms where customers can view the progress of their ongoing separation tests. The Technology Center at Sweco's new facility features an air-conditioned testing and observation lab as well as three large test cells used for general separation, pharmaceutical and grinding mill testing. Customers can submit sample materials for testing under actual production conditions. Sweco engineers analyze the results and prescribe the optimum separation technology solution for the customer's application. "Improvements and upgrades on the instrumentation at the new facility will enable us to better service our customers," said Joe Smith, application engineer. "We know more about particle distribution during testing and we are able to photographically record particle size before and after screening to provide customers with a complete record of the process."
