Sweco recently introduced a full line of hook style and bonded style replacement screens for rectangular separators used in the silica, plastic, sulfur, mining and processing markets. The new line of hook screens can be used in most rectangular vibratory separators, including Sweco's own line. Sweco hook screens incorporate either a single or double layer of mesh. In screens with a double layer, a coarse mesh serves as a backup to the finer top mesh to add strength and extend the life of the screen. A triple, or sandwich-type, layered screen is also offered for specialized applications. The company's hook screens are manufactured to precise tolerances using either galvanized or stainless steel hooks. Neoprene or bonded-edge inserts reduce premature hook failure by eliminating metal-to-metal impact between the separator and the screen itself.
