The Tile Council of America, Inc. (TCA) and the Ceramic Tile Education Foundation (CTEF) participated in a special bench project for the Give Kids The World (GKTW) organization during Coverings 2002 in Orlando, Fla. Six TCA members designed and donated colorful tile for the concrete benches. Participants included Crossville Porcelain Stone/USA, Crossville, Tenn.; Dirk Elliott Tile, Spokane, Wash.; Ironrock Capital, Inc., Canton, Ohio; M. E. Tile Co., Inc., Hammond, Ind.; Michelle Griffoul Studios, Buellton, Calif.; and Summitville Tiles, Inc., Summitville, Ohio. The benches were presented to Kathy Aubruner of GKTW on May 8th by Robert E. Daniels, chairman of Coverings 2002 and executive director of the TCA. "My expectations for the benches were set high," said Aubruner. "The benches are colorful pieces of art that have surpassed my expectations. The children and families will enjoy them tremendously."
