Students attending the courses of Interior Design and Industrial Design at the European Design Institute (IED) in Milan, Italy, have been given the task of identifying and designing innovative uses of ceramic that go beyond its primary role as a cladding material. Ceramic Workshop, a collection of displays and exhibits first opened in 2002 to explore possible developments in the ceramic industry in the near future, will be returning to Rimini, Italy, as part of Tecnargilla 2004, the 19th International Exhibition of Technologies and Supplies for the Ceramic and Brick Industries, to be held October 1-5. All projects will be exhibited in the large central hall in the exhibition center.
