The Cleveland Vibrator Co.: Twin-Motor Sifter (posted 9/2/09)

3-D vibratory action, coupled with ultrasonic deblinding, enables fine material screening capabilities for applications down to 20 microns.

The Cleveland Vibrator Co. has expanded its line of coarse and fine material vibratory screeners with the addition of a twin-motor sifter. Engineered with three control variables (vibrator force, frequency and drive angle), the sifter features 3-D motion that results in greater throughput of difficult-to-screen products. This 3-D vibratory action, coupled with the company’s ultrasonic deblinding system, enables fine material screening capabilities for applications down to 20 microns.

With its optional transducer, the twin-motor sifter achieves superior ultrasonic vibration performance. “With our twin-motor sifter design, you see that the transducer is attached to an aluminum rim with the wire cloth attached on the bottom, similar to a sieve,” said David Strong, product development engineer. “This enables an exclusive transfer of vibration that increases the life of the sifter’s wire cloth, which is different from traditional methods where the transducer is attached to the center of the wire cloth, allowing heat to prematurely fail the fine wires and reducing the screening area.”

Additional features include 24- or 36-in. diameter screen sizes, twin rotary electric drives with fully adjustable eccentric weights outboard mounted, removable fines funnel for easy cleaning, and re-screenable rims.
