This unique micro- and macro-sampling configuration for Thermo Nicolet FT-Raman spectrometers installs entirely inside the laser-safe sample compartment. The integrated video camera allows direct observation of specimens, mounted on the horizontal x-y-z motorized stage, with 25x magnification. The video image makes it easy to center small samples in the active analysis zone by directly viewing the Raman excitation laser spot on the specimen. For heterogeneous samples, a small laser spot size allows spatial discrimination down to 50 microns. The stage is completely controlled through the company's OMNIC spectroscopy software.
