U.S. Silica Holdings, Inc. recently announced that its board of directors has approved the construction of a new state-of-the-art frac sand mine and plant in West Texas to serve the rapidly growing Permian Basin.
HWI expects initial capacity at the new plant to be approximately 80,000 metric tons per year.

The two companies reportedly decided to work together in order to blend the material technologies on nitride ceramics possessed by Toshiba Materials with the special ceramic processing technologies possessed by Kyocera.
