Triangle Brick Selects New Manufacturing Site

Triangle Brick Co. of Durham, N.C., will build a new manufacturing plant that will increase its annual production capacity to 500 million standard brick units. The addition of this new plant strengthens the company's position as the largest brick manufacturer based in North Carolina, which is the nation's number one brick manufacturing state. Construction of the new 300,000-square-foot plant has begun and is scheduled for completion in late 2004. It will be built in the Wadesboro, N.C., community and located adjacent to the existing plant, which opened in 2001. The new plant, which will employ about 50 people, will feature technologically advanced production and packaging equipment, including industrial robots. The computer-controlled kiln will be one of the largest ever built in the U.S.
