David E. Brooks has been named president and chief executive officer of Unifrax Corp., and he will be responsible for all aspects of the company's operations. Brooks joined Unifrax in 1980 and has held several increasingly responsible positions with the company, including vice president of marketing, senior vice president for the Americas and, most recently, president and chief operating officer since September 2005. Additionally, William P. Kelly will assume the role of non-executive chairman of the Unifrax board, leaving active employment at Unifrax while still remaining an investor. Kelly was named the first president of Unifrax in 1996 when the company separated from The Carborundum Co., where he had held several key operating positions.
