New AQUACASTTMUltimate Cement from USG Corp. Industrial Products provides an extra-high-performance, time-saving solution for all types of water-holding applications. The casting material, which is made from a proprietary, non-gypsum-based formulation, can increase productivity by as much as 300% over conventional cements. It is ideal for applications ranging from birdbaths and fountains to flowerpots. Extremely durable, the material duplicates fine detail with excellent resilience and chip resistance. It develops a compressive strength of 3500 to 4500 psi after only one hour, and reaches a maximum compressive strength of 7000 to 9000 psi after 28 days. "The product's quick demolding time can substantially increase daily production levels for users," said Jim Messer, marketing manager. "It also permits them to use fewer molds in the casting process, which reduces costs."
