UT-Battelle, LLC, which operates Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) for the U.S. Department of Energy, recently announced the selection of Jeff Wadsworth, Ph.D., as ORNL's director. Wadsworth, who will begin his duties on August 1, joins ORNL from Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, where he served as a senior leader. In a joint statement, Carl Kohrt, Ph.D., Battelle president and CEO and UT-Battelle board chair, and John Shumaker, Ph.D., University of Tennessee president and the UT-Battelle board vice chair, said, "We are absolutely delighted to attract a leader of Jeff Wadsworth's caliber to ORNL. He is a world-class scientist and leader for a world-class laboratory. Jeff's experience in the national lab system, R&D, materials science, technology transfer and national security will be a great match for ORNL."
