WBB Minerals has announced that, through Watts Blake Bearne & Co PLC, it has purchased a 51% shareholding in Caulim do Nordeste, (CdN), the refined clay and ceramic body producer based near Recife in Northeastern Brazil. CdN is a major supplier of refined ball clay to the Brazilian sanitaryware industry. CdN was previously owned by Sr. Amadeo Romaguera, who will remain as managing director and retain a significant shareholding in the company. His deputy will be Sr Antonio Cardoso, previously general manager of WBB Cerapasta, a prepared ceramic body producer in Portugal.
