Mohawk Industries, Inc. recently announced the appointment of W. Christopher Wellborn to the position of president and chief operating officer (COO). Wellborn has held the position of COO since November 2005 and has served on Mohawk’s board of directors since 2002. He previously served as president of Dal-Tile from March 2002 to November 2005.

“Chris has been an excellent partner in his role as chief operating officer as we transitioned from a carpet manufacturer to a total flooring business, including carpet, rugs, ceramic, laminate, stone, wood and vinyl products,” said Jeffrey S. Lorberbaum, chairman and CEO of Mohawk. “He has contributed to improving the company’s strategic initiatives, organization structure, personnel development, and execution in this role.
