Semmelrock Group, a 75% subsidiary of Wienerberger AG, has announced construction of a state-of-the-art plant in Ledcice, near Prague. The company will invest more than €8 million (~ $11 million) in this project. The plant is scheduled to begin production in spring of 2011; it will have a capacity of nearly 1 million square meters and a product line that will range from pavers and boards to accessories and special items.

The company currently operates three plants in the Czech Republic. This investment is intended to optimize the Czech plant network, to meet the demand for innovative products, and to strengthen Semmelrock’s market position in this region.
