World-Renowned Glass Blower to Establish a School in Las Vegas

Robert Shield will offer basic and advanced classes in torch work to a limited number of students.

Robert Shield

For over 20 years, master craftsman Robert Shield has traveled the world demonstrating and teaching the art of glass blowing. He has produced spun-glass creations for members of the British Royal Family, the British Ambassador on the Island of Malta, and stars and celebrities around the world.

Robert reports a renewed interest in the art of glass blowing since the young glass blower Siobhan Magnus made such an impression on her American Idol journey, exposing the craft for the first time to millions of young Americans. Now a resident of Las Vegas, he will offer basic and advanced classes in torch work to a limited number of students. Students will be taught one-on-one, initially at the Studio Royal International Academy of Glass Blowing at 4375 E. Sahara Ave., Suite 34, Las Vegas NV 89121.

Monthly open house events will offer prospective students and interested guests the opportunity to attend a free lecture and demonstration. Bookings open June 1 and classes will commence at the end of June 2010. Full details are available at http://studioroyal.com.
