The Rotocage^® lumpbreaker has been designed to break up hard-to-handle pasty filter and centrifuge cakes. According to the company, the design is more efficient, less expensive, less prone to wear, and uses less power than ball, hammer or pin mills. Capacity range is from a few pounds to thousands of pounds per hour. The design consists of a rectangular housing containing two counter-rotating cylindrical cages. The bars of the cages shear the feed material, and the thickness and spacing of the bars control the output material size. Various size screens can be installed at the outlet for closer control of particle size.
