MoreWyssmont Co., Inc.'s TURBO-DRYER® is being successfully used to continuously dry and calcine a metal compound to produce an extremely pure oxide. The TURBO-DRYER was selected after extensive testing of different types of dryers. The unit's ability to provide a controlled retention time to produce a high-quality product was an important factor in the selection process. The unit was shipped shop-assembled with drives attached on an integral base frame with insulated housing.
The TURBO-DRYER is a proprietary continuous tray dryer design that consists of a stack of rotating circular trays in a sealed enclosure. Material is fed onto the top tray and leveled. After one revolution, the material is wiped onto the next lower tray, where the operation is repeated. Fans circulate heated air in the enclosure to provide the drying medium.
