I recently ran across a press release from Indiana University regarding its Lifelong Learning Week, which will feature a workshop on pottery wheels, and I got to thinking.
Making pottery or working with clay in any capacity requires information, personal experience, training in techniques, endurance, and the ability to turn theory into practical application. Unfortunately, these days, all of the required skills and knowledge are not obtainable at one location.
