The outcome of the upcoming presidential election will undoubtedly have major implications for the U.S. economy. How much of an impact will the outcome of the 2012 election have on U.S. manufacturing?

Most readers (61.5%) responded that the 2012 election will have a lot of impact on manufacturing, while 23.1% believe it will have no impact, and the remaining 15.4% said that it would only have a little impact. This question generated several reader comments, including:

"Ask the autoworkers (and all the suppliers down the line) where they'd be if Romney's "let them fail" position had been taken seriously. The president made the right call for the middle class and American business."

"It would be nice if these comments weren’t all written by the RNC."

"Politicians are politicians, so Romney or Obama will still mean 'same old, same old!'"
