At the end of the recent presidential debate, moderator Candy Crowley asked both candidates about the likelihood of Apple bringing manufacturing back to the U.S. In last week's CI CyberNews CyberPoll, we asked readers whether they believe Apple will ever bring manufacturing back to America. The majority of respondents (81.8%) said no, while 18.2% said maybe/unsure.
"There certainly seems to be some indication that manufacturing is coming back driven by the need for shorter lead times and better manufacturing control. At some point the frustration of dealing with low labor cost off shore manufacturing is offset by economic losses due to errors in production and the increased cost of shipping as well as time delays."
"We are addicted to slave labor, just like a heroin addict is addicted to cheap heroin."
"Apple's manufactureing was never here to begin with, how can they bring it back?"
"They would be very foolish to do so, considering the onerous taxation system and anti-business environment within the U.S.government!"
