The Society of Glass and Ceramic Decorated Products (SGCDpro) recently reported that two new bills focusing on chemicals are in the works.

The Society of Glass and Ceramic Decorated Products (SGCDpro) recently reported that two new bills focusing on chemicals-the Safe Chemical Act of 2010 (Senate) and the Toxic Chemicals Safety Act (House)-are in the works. These bills are said to be similar to Europe’s REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restrictions of Chemicals) legislation, which SGCDpro describes as “far-reaching, costly and burdensome.”

What experiences has your company had with REACH, and what problems/challenges might industry expect as the new U.S. legislation moves forward? Please share your thoughts by posting a comment below.
