Please "Fool" Responsibly

I wake up each and every year on April Fools Day with a feeling of deep trepidation. I don’t like surprises. Well, let me rephrase: It’s not very often that I like surprises. Send me flowers out of the blue, sure. Show me an unexpected buy-one/get-one sale at my favorite bookstore, you bet. I would have no problem with either of those surprise scenarios.

However, these happy-go-lucky surprises are not what April Fools Day is all about, as all of you mischievous folk out there well know. I’m too much of a control freak to take all of the day’s disasters (real or not) in stride without developing a headache by mid-morning.

I’d like to speak for all of my fellow April Fools Grinches by asking the rest of you to, pretty please, take it easy on us. We’re a delicate bunch, and your supposed missed meeting or imaginary broken down car could be the very thing that pushes us right over the edge.

The links below provide some interesting tidbits and trivia regarding April Fools Day. Enjoy!
