The majority of our readers use social media for keeping up with friends and family (62.5%), while 37.5% use it for networking with colleagues (37.5%). What sites are their favorites?

The CI CyberNews CyberPoll from last week took a look at social media activities. Of the total respondents, 79.2% use Facebook, 50% use LinkedIn, 16.7% use MySpace and 8.3% use Twitter. The majority of our readers use social media for keeping up with friends and family (62.5%), followed by networking with colleagues (37.5%), as an information source (20.8%), checking up on their kids (12.5%) and keeping up on gossip (4.2%).

“I use Facebook for socializing, only. I use LinkedIn for business networking, only.”

“Social media sites have no relevance in business-to-business communications.”

“None of these. We still have a dinner table.”
