With summer in full swing, we asked readers of last week’s CI CyberNews CyberPoll if they use all of their allotted vacation time each year. Reponses broke down as follows:
  • Yes: 52.6%
  • No: 26.3%
  • Sometimes: 21.1%
Comments included:

“I am a big proponent of breaks/lunches/vacations/sick days. Employers give them for a reason and every employee should feel free to use the allotted time. Anyone or any place that makes its employees feel otherwise is unscrupulous in my opinion.”

“It’s MY vacation, I earned it, and no employer will ever see me not using every day of it! Are there really employees who don’t use all their allotted vacation days?”

“Who has time for that?”

“With two school-aged children, vacation time is barely enough to cover the days they get off.”

“We rarely get one.”

“If ya don’t you’re a fool! Life’s too short!”
