Rolodexes used to be a fixture on any office desk. But are they still relevant in the digital age? In last week’s CI CyberNews CyberPoll, we asked readers how they store contact information. Responses were as follows:
  • On my computer in a database or contact network: 56.1%
  • On my PDA: 12.5%
  • In a Rolodex or other paper card sorter: 12.5%
  • On my smartphone: 6.3%
  • In a folder or box on my desk: 6.3%
  • Other: 6.3%
Comments included:

“When people give me paper business cards, I still keep them in a drawer. However, most of the information for my contacts is in my email.”

“Some of each.”

“Still use my Windows PocketPC for this. Love how it does contacts, finds them quicker than PC, with BT mouse and keyboard, I can enter and copy items into notes faster than anything. Android has messed up my contact list so went back to PocketPC still ROCKS since 2004!”

“Thanks for the blast from the past. I’ll bet there are still some out there hidden away in a desk drawer and complete with now obsolete contact information.”
