Retsch, Inc.: Centrifugal Mill Sieves

Retsch, Inc. recently introduced new distance sieves for use with its ZM 100 Ultra centrifugal mill. Especially useful when dealing with oily, humid or temperature sensitive samples, the new distance sieves reportedly improve grinding results significantly. The high speed mills pulverize samples in seconds. However, the high impact and shearing force can jeopardize the comminution process. The large diameter screens and increased distance to the rotor teeth provide less friction and reduce heat, avoiding undesired melting of the product or separation of the oily from the solid matter. With the increased output rate, researchers can process larger batches faster.
