Berges Joins PPG Industries Board

Directors of PPG Industries recently elected James G. Berges a member
of the company's board. He is the president of St. Louis-based
Emerson Electric Co. He joined Emerson in 1976 and has held a variety
of increasingly responsible operating and staff posts. He became
Emerson's president in 1999 and is responsible for the company's
corporate growth and development activities as well as its
electronics and telecommunications business.
