GranitiFiandre recently announced it has been selected as the National Finalist 2012-2013 for the European Business Awards. This European competition reportedly rewards companies for entrepreneurial excellence in terms of innovation, attention to social sustainability and respect for the environment.

The first phase of the event attracted competition entries from more than 15,000 companies, from which 627 were chosen and named National Finalists for each of the 27 countries represented. After public voting ends on October 17, a jury will select the winners to go through to the next phase. The National Champions will then be evaluated by a third panel of judges, made up of experts from the entrepreneurial, political and academic worlds. The names of the winning companies will be announced in April 2013 at a gala awards event.
