NSG Group recently announced that Toyota Motor Corp. showcased its “i-ROAD” ultra-compact mobility package as the one of the world’s premiere concept vehicles displayed at its exhibit at the 43rd Tokyo Motor Show, which took place November 23 to December 1. Reportedly the thinnest ever glass used as a car windshield, the NSG Group laminated glass is fitted to the i-ROAD.

The glass consists of 2.0 mm outer-thickness + (interlayer) + 1.0 mm inner-thickness. In recent car development, lighter weight designs are of paramount importance from the viewpoint of CO2 emission reduction, as well as energy efficiency; automotive glass can also provide savings. The new windshield used in this model reportedly achieves an approximately 23% weight reduction in comparison to existing standard product specifications.
