PPG: Architectural Glass Catalog
PPG recently published an architectural glass catalog that features photography of award-winning buildings, product descriptions, and performance data for PPG’s entire line of glass products. Products reportedly include low-iron, performance-tinted, and passive and solar control low-emissivity glasses.
“PPG is continually adding to and enhancing the quality of its online offerings, but there always is considerable demand for the glass catalog because of its convenience and the extraordinary project photography it highlights,” said Glenn T. Miner, director of construction, flat glass.
The PPG glass catalog contains an educational section about glass and energy management that describes how coated low-e glasses reportedly can diminish energy use in commercial buildings by reducing heating and cooling loads and transmitting high levels of natural light. Heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment, along with artificial lighting, consume nearly 60% of the energy used in U.S. commercial buildings.
The catalog also includes a section about the PPG CERTIFIED FABRICATOR NETWORK™ group, a collection of PPG-trained and -audited suppliers that provide access to proprietary high-performance PPG glass products.
