Savoia Invests in Automated Handling and Storage

A new automated handling and storage system, supplied by SACMI and Nuova Sima, was recently initiated at the Savoia plant in Fiorano, Modenese, Italy.
“This automated line, which features automatic laser-guided vehicles, has been designed to make Savoia’s ceramic manufacturing operations as flexible as possible,” said Miselli, plant engineer. Vehicles are constantly monitored by an on-car rotating laser scanner, which works through the use of a reflected beam.
