SCHOTT Launches Energy Efficiency Network
SCHOTT recently established an energy efficiency network called EffiNet@SCHOTT at all six of its German sites.
To identify and implement further efficiency potential, SCHOTT recently established an energy efficiency network called EffiNet@SCHOTT at all six of its German sites. This internal company network reportedly is one of 500 that are to be established in Germany by 2020 as a contribution to achieving the climate and energy policy objectives of the Federal Republic of Germany. BV Glas, the Federal Association of the German Glass Industry, is also on board as a network supporter of EffiNet@SCHOTT. The network is also being supported by Energy Consulting GmbH in Kehl, Germany.
“We have undertaken great efforts to increase our energy efficiency in the melting of glass quite significantly in recent decades,” said Hermann Ditz, member of the SCHOTT board of management. “This is a very important ongoing task for us. As part of our network, we now want to focus on the peripheral processes of glass production even more in order to better exploit potential for efficiency here as well.”
