As demand for black brick increases, Glen-Gery is prepared to offer architects and designers several options to meet design and structural requirements. The use of black brick in commercial architecture has evolved from what was once only an accent brick to the primary color of choice for full projects. This growing demand has driven each of Glen-Gery’s nine brick manufacturing facilities to master this product. The company offers more than a dozen black clay brick products in a range of sizes from its various manufacturing plants across the U.S. These products are also available as thin brick.
The most recent addition to the black product line comes from the Redfield Plant, located in Redfield, Iowa. The product, coined Carbon Black for its shiny, iridescent finish, is currently available in two sizes: modular (3-5/8 x 2/14 x 7-5/8) and utility (3-5/8 x 3-5/8 x 11-5/8). The black product offering ranges from the shiny, iridescent finish of carbon black, to matte black of the charcoal (K13-3063) and glossy finish on the black glazed brick (G701). Other surface textures include traditional smooth faces and rough wirecut products.
