H.C. Starck has appointed Dennis Schulze, Ph.D., to serve as a member of the executive board and chief financial officer.
H.C. Starck has appointed Dennis Schulze, Ph.D., to serve as a member of the executive board and chief financial officer (CFO) of the H.C. Starck Group. Engelbert Heimes, Ph.D., will remain chairman of the executive board of the group on an ongoing basis. Schulze will replace Matthias Schmitz, Ph.D., who is leaving the company to take on a new professional role.
Schmitz had informed the supervisory board of his decision not to extend his contract, which will end at the end of December, and pursue opportunities outside the group. He joined H.C. Starck Group in July 2014 as member of the executive board and financial director. Schulze previously served as CFO of Douglas Group and worked at The Carlyle Group, most recently as a managing director in Germany.
“We sincerely thank Matthias Schmitz for all his hard work and dedication to the H.C. Starck Group,” said Heimes. “Among other things, Mr. Schmitz played a crucial role in last year’s successful refinancing… We look forward to working with Dennis Schulze. His broad experience in private equity and financing will be a great asset to the further development of the H.C. Starck Group, which he is already familiar with from his time at Carlyle.”
Jan Lösch, Ph.D., has also been newly appointed to the executive management of H.C. Starck, where he reportedly will serve as managing director responsible for accounting and controlling. Jens Knöll, Ph.D., will assume the position of the chairman of the executive management of H.C. Starck GmbH in addition to his duties as chief operating officer (COO) of H.C. Starck Group. Michael Reiß, Ph.D., will remain a member of the executive management of H.C. Starck GmbH.
