American Standard Self-Cleaning Toilet Wins GOOD DESIGN Award
ActiClean toilets combine VorMax flushing technology with a fully integrated self-cleaning system.
The ActiClean self-cleaning toilet from American Standard, part of the LIXIL Corp., has been named a 2017 GOOD DESIGN Award recipient in the bath category for design excellence. This award is presented by the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design in cooperation with the European Centre for Architecture, Art, Design and Urban Studies.
The ActiClean system is a toilet that reportedly cleans itself with one press of a button. It combines VorMax flushing technology with a fully integrated self-cleaning system. In addition, ActiClean eliminates the need for add-on after-market cleaning solutions that may not work with high-efficiency toilets. The WaterSense-certified ActiClean uses a single jet of 1.28 gal of water per flush.
Each year, The Chicago Athenaeum presents the GOOD DESIGN Awards for the most innovative and cutting-edge industrial, product, and graphic designs produced around the world. One of the main factors for the awards selection is based on whether or not a product can enrich society and people’s lives through its design.
