The event provides an opportunity for industry experts, global leaders, and cutting-edge researchers to come together and discuss the most pressing issues facing the refractories world today.
The St. Louis Section and the Refractory Ceramics Division of the American Ceramic Society (ACerS) are again teaming up to sponsor the 54th Annual Symposium on Refractories, which will be held March 21-22 in St. Louis. The event provides an opportunity for industry experts, global leaders, and cutting-edge researchers to come together and discuss the most pressing issues facing the refractories world today.
The theme for this year’s event is “Refractories for the Cement, Glass, and Minerals Manufacturing Industry.” Key speakers will include manufacturing representatives from RHI-Magnesita, Allied Mineral Products, Reno Refractories, HarbisonWalker International, and Mt. Savage Specialty Refractories. The docket will also include a number of speakers from academia; world-renowned testing laboratories; and critical raw material producers like Elkem, Almatis, Kerneos, and Imerys Refractory Minerals.
This conference also serves as an annual meeting of ASTM Committee C08 on Refractories, which will be discussing the latest trends in standardized testing, including the development of new standards related to field installations, sample preparation, permanent linear change, abrasion resistance, and more. The symposium will begin with an open group forum at a Kickoff Event featuring food, drinks and games at The 99 Hops House, Hollywood Casino, on the evening of March 20.
