Three SCHOTT Products Nominated for German Innovation Award
While two of the nominated products (PURAVIS® and HelioJet®) are currently available, the new LuminaLine product concept will be launched later this year.
SCHOTT recently announced that three of its products have been nominated by the German Design Council for the German Innovation Award 2018. While two of the nominated products (PURAVIS® and HelioJet®) are currently available, the new LuminaLine product concept will be launched later this year. All three products come from SCHOTT’s Lighting & Imaging business unit.
“We are very happy to toe the line with three products,” said Andreas Uthmann, head of Marketing for SCHOTT Lighting & Imaging. “In LuminaLine, we’ve sent a product concept to the competition. It’s nice to see our innovative light guide concept is being embraced, as it offers solutions for numerous industries.”
PURAVIS eco-friendly high-performance glass optical fibers are used in various medical illumination applications. This “green” product is manufactured in an environmentally friendly manner while having the ability to transmit whiter light than conventional glass optical fibers.
HelioJet is well-known among frequent flyers, though they might not know it. The solution is used in modern aircraft cabins to help minimize jetlag through unique lighting moods.
SCHOTT LuminaLine is a glass-composite light guide, the interior of which sheds homogeneous and powerful light. Its cladding is thermally toughened to strengthen its resistance to breaking. As a result, it is resistant to external influences such as heat, moisture and chemicals.
