Sacmi Holds Sanitaryware Event to Showcase Casting Solutions
“Go fast, Go future” was the slogan adopted for the 2018 edition of the meeting, which opened with a guided tour of the new pilot plant in the Sacmi Sanitaryware Lab.
During the recent Tecnargilla 2018, Sacmi’s 12th Sanitaryware Technological Trends Meeting was attended by over 130 selected customers from 40 countries. “Go fast, Go future” was the slogan adopted for the 2018 edition of the meeting, which opened with a guided tour of the new pilot plant in the Sacmi Sanitaryware Lab.
Having doubled in floor space this year, the facility has seen the installation of a new, broader machine pool as the Sacmi Sanitaryware & Tableware Division has committed to investment plans in technology, organization, and service. More specifically, customers visiting the lab had the opportunity to see several casting demonstrations (ranging from complex to one-piece WCs) that highlighted automation, product quality and energy efficiency.
The day continued with a look at the Resin Department, which was open to the public for the first time. The purpose of the visit was to show customers the latest developments concerning new CAM-tooled solutions for the manufacture of resin molds with up to five parts. The guests then moved on to the Modelling department, where they saw a new fired-article 3D inspection module with a high-definition camera system and a live demonstration of a CAD/CAM integrated machining center.
Attendees continued in the afternoon with a guided tour of local attractions, including Ducati Motors. They then visited FICO Eataly World, reportedly the world’s largest agri-food park encompassing all the best of Italy’s cuisine and bio-diversity. There, participants were able to enjoy a wine tasting session and an evening meal.
