KEMET Corp. has added pulse discharge multilayer ceramic capacitors to its range of products. The 200°C series reportedly delivers reliable short-duration pulse generation in harsh environments typically associated with munitions and down-hole detonation circuitry. KEMET’s patented base metal electrode dielectric system is 100% Pb-free, and RoHS and REACH compliant.

KEMET pulse discharge capacitors offer high and uniform breakdown voltage performance, resulting in reliable in customer field applications. With discharge voltages of up to 3,500 volts and capacitances up to 150 nF, these capacitors are reportedly ideal for firing set circuitry utilizing exploding foil initiators or slapper detonators.

“KEMET’s world-class C0G pulse discharge capacitors provide unparalleled energy delivery to support the growing needs for accuracy and efficiency in tools for the gas and oil Industry, as well as other extreme applications that require rapid energy discharge," said John Bultitude, Ph.D., vice president.
