The board of directors of the United States Advanced Ceramics Association (USACA) recently unanimously nominated and elected a new executive committee to replace the outgoing committee members, many of whom had served on the committee for four years. The new USACA executive committee is as follows: Michael Peretti of GE Aviation as chair; John Holowczak of United Technologies Research Center as vice chair; Robert Cook of Lancer Systems as treasurer; and Robert Licht of Saint-Gobain as secretary.

The board thanked the outgoing USACA executive committee members for their outstanding service and dedication. Some notable accomplishments during the past four years under the outgoing executive committee’s leadership include: sustaining the Accident Tolerant Fuels program at the Department of Energy to enable development and testing of ceramic cladding for fuel rods; developing and promoting technical roadmaps on transparent ceramics, leading to new funding opportunities for association members at the Department of Defense; supporting federal investment to enable domestic production of silicon carbide fiber as a critical material for ceramic matrix composites; and the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with the Japan Fine Ceramics Association to increase international collaboration to grow the ceramics industry.
